Computerised, multifunctional assessment for pupils of ALL abilities and ages to adult
LASS Junior is a multifunctional assessment system that students find challenging and entertaining. The program employs the unique 'adaptive algorithm' developed by Lucid that ensures assessments are as brief as practicable without losing their accuracy. The eight assessment modules in LASS Junior have been designed and scientifically validated for pupils in the age range 8 - 11 years.

LASS enables teachers to identify students with dyslexia (specific learning difficulty) but it has many other important functions as well, including: · Assessing attainments in reading and spelling · Measuring discrepancies between actual and expected literacy attainment · Identifying underlying problems in memory or phonological skills · Monitoring development in reading and spelling on a regular basis · Evaluating progress in memory, phonological and phonic skills · Estimating the student's intelligence · Providing support evidence when applying for special arrangements in examinations · Reasoning · Adaptive assessment in about 45 minutes · Enjoyed by even the most reluctant students · Easy to interpret · On CD or for Networks · Single word reading

LADS PLUS ( Lucid Adult Dyslexia Screening Plus version) Swift, objective and accurate identification of dyslexia in the general population aged 15 +
LADS Plus provides quick and effective screening for dyslexia in a wide variety of adult settings. LADS Plus assesses phonological processing, working memory and lexical access - core cognitive skills that are typically weak in dyslexic adults despite educational experience. Together with the LADS nonverbal reasoning module, these tests enable a reliable identification of dyslexia across the range of intelligence and experience. The accuracy of LADS has been proved in extensive scientific trials, fewer than 4% false positive ('false alarms') and 5% false negative ('misses') misclassifications. Most other methods of identification have misclassification rates of anywhere from 20% to 80%.
Lads Plus was developed to provide improved screening accuracy in wider populations that may include individuals that have non standard educational backgrounds , low general ability, and/or poor English language skills such as · Young offenders · Person who have had disrupted and/or non standard schooling · Immigrants · Ethnic minorities The full range of Lucid products are available as stand alone and network versions and are payable as a yearly licence fee.
